PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Grey Art Gallery collaborated with Persib Bandung to present an art exhibition entitled Kultura Persib at Jalan Braga No. 47, Bandung City.

The exhibition, which is open to the public from June 9 to September 10, 2026, provides a space for artists, archival collectors, and the general public who have an emotional connection with Persib.

Grey Art Gallery curator, Angga Aditya Atmadilaga explained that this exhibition was born from the needs of artists who have a deep love for Persib.

"Persib is the pulse of their work, inspiring much of their work. However, until now, there hasn't been a dedicated space to showcase visual expressions about Persib. This sparked the initiative to present this exhibition at Grey Art Gallery," said Angga on Thursday (June 4, 2026).

According to him, the choice of Grey Art Gallery as the exhibition location was well-reasoned. Besides being centrally located in Bandung and easily accessible, the gallery is also open daily, providing a wider opportunity for the public to enjoy the exhibition.

More than just showcasing artwork, this exhibition highlights the cultural phenomena that have grown alongside Persib.

Therefore, the committee chose the term “Persib Culture” to describe the various forms of visual expression born from the long journey of the club that is the pride of the people of West Java.

"Contributors aren't just artists. There are members of the general public who grew up with Persib, who have memories, recollections, and personal experiences. All of that becomes part of the visual culture we showcase," he said.

During the curation process, the organizers held an open call for entries to the public. Additionally, several artists, photographers, archivists, and historians with documentation and works related to Persib were specially invited.

As a result, 70 contributors participated in the exhibition, which featured a total of 95 objects. These included works of art, murals, installations, historical archives, photographic documentation, and a collection of books related to Persib.

One of the attractions of the exhibition is the presence of statues by artist Iwong, which were made independently to honor important figures in Persib's history.

The four figures immortalized in the form of statues are Indra Thohir, H. Umuh Muchtar, Jajang Nurjaman, and Bojan Hodak.

The exhibition is divided into five areas, namely the theater room, stone chamber, wood chamber, main gallery, and second floor area.

The front of the gallery displays an infographic of Persib's historical journey, including various achievements and titles that have been won.

Meanwhile, the upper floor is filled with works and archives sent directly by the public.

For Angga, the most memorable works stem from the personal experiences of Bobotoh. One example is a mural depicting the love for Persib passed down from parents to children.

"Works like that feel very authentic. There's also a mural depicting how in the 1990s, people would climb trees to watch a Persib match. It's a personal experience, but it's felt collectively by many," he said.

Through this exhibition, Grey Art Gallery hopes that the public can see Persib not only as a football club, but also as part of the cultural identity of Bandung City that continues to live and is passed down across generations.

The Persib Cultural Exhibition can be visited with a ticket price of IDR 25,000 on weekdays and IDR 35,000 on weekends.

Visitors are allowed to document the works through photographs, but are asked not to touch the archives, collection jerseys, or exhibited works to ensure their preservation. (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/rka)
