
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Employment Service (Disnaker) together with the Tripatrit Cooperation Institute (LKS) paid a working visit to the Industry and Employment Service of the Badung Regency Government, Bali, on 19-21 February 2024.
This visit was held in the context of a mock study related to the implementation of employment policies.
Secretary of the Bandung City Manpower Office, Dicky Wisnu, said that this study specifically discusses the employment issues currently being faced, with an emphasis on the successful implementation of policies and the alignment of policy harmonization with the latest laws.
"This visit is to explore experiences and learning from these two areas, which will later become the basis for preparing academic texts regarding employment management and as a background for studies for preparing the Strategic Plan for the Bandung City Employment Service," he said.
Dicky said the regional regulations being studied were related to employment matters. The study was carried out with the Bandung City Government's efforts to understand and adopt best practices that have been successfully implemented by the Badung Regency Government in overcoming employment issues.
According to him, the issues faced by the Bandung City Government include program implementation, wage systems, implementation of local content and so on which require the preparation of academic texts and strategic plans for the Employment Service in Bandung City to align with local needs, also align with the level of statutory regulations. -a higher level of legislation as in Law (UU) Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation on employment issues.
"Useful value can be in the form of increasing welfare and harmonizing the Job Creation Law," he said.
Dicky also hopes that the Bandung City Government can implement the concrete and innovative steps that have been taken by the Badung Regency Government. For example, taking advantage of regional uniqueness such as cultural tourism and local genius in reducing conflicts/demonstrations that often accompany this issue.
The city of Bandung can also utilize this experience and learning to improve its own employment policies and programs, for example in terms of developing local content, as well as building collaboration and networks.
“Building collaboration and networks between regional governments is another useful value. "By establishing strong relationships with the Badung Regency Government, Bandung City can expand its network for exchanging ideas and support," he said.
He hopes that the Bandung City Government can implement the Employment Regional Regulation, including facilitating the following points:
1. Improve worker welfare
2. Local Economic Empowerment
3. Protection of Workers' Rights and Welfare
4. Increased Stakeholder Collaboration
5. Increased Community Participation
6. Fair Wages for Workers
7. Balance with Employer Interests
8. Increasing Social Justice.
