PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Acting Regent of Bekasi Asep Surya Atmaja inaugurated and swore in 464 functional officials within the Bekasi Regency Government to strengthen the professionalism of state civil servants and improve the quality of public services to the community (16/3/2026).

The inauguration took place in the Command Center Room of the Communication, Informatics, Cryptography and Statistics Office Building, Bekasi Regency Government Complex, Central Cikarang.

Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, emphasized that strengthening functional positions is an important step in improving the quality of regional government services to the public.

"Today's inauguration of functional officials is part of the Bekasi Regency Government's efforts to strengthen the professionalism of civil servants (ASN) and improve the quality of public services to the community," said Asep Surya Atmaja.

The strengthening of functional positions is in line with Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning the State Civil Apparatus and Regulation of the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Number 1 of 2023 concerning Functional Positions.

This policy emphasizes that career development of state civil servants is directed at strengthening positions based on expertise and skills.

Asep Surya Atmaja said that functional positions are one of the important pillars in realizing a professional and results-oriented bureaucracy.

"Functional officials have a very strategic role in supporting the effectiveness of government organizations," said Asep Surya Atmaja.

The 464 officials who were inaugurated came from various professional fields such as health workers, education staff, and a number of other technical functional positions.

The presence of functional officials is expected to improve the quality of health services, education, and various public services in Bekasi Regency.

Asep Surya Atmaja asked the inaugurated officials to continue improving their competencies and developing their expertise in their respective fields of work.

"As functional officials, they will be required to continuously improve their competencies, develop expertise in their respective fields, and be able to produce performance that has a real impact on improving the quality of public services," said Asep Surya Atmaja.

State civil servants are also asked to practice the basic values of state civil servants with AHMETICS in carrying out their service duties to the community.

These values include service-oriented, accountable, competent, harmonious, loyal, adaptive, and collaborative.

Asep Surya Atmaja hopes that functional officials will be able to provide work innovations and professional solutions in facing various public service challenges.

"These values should not just be a slogan, but truly be the foundation for carrying out every task as a government official," said Asep Surya Atmaja.
