PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) will take firm action against abuse of authority and activities that violate regional regulations.

One of them is about illegal parking which residents complained about until it went viral. This is because illegal parking charges expensive rates. This is what happened in the Jalan Sultan Agung area.

"Following up on public reports regarding parking rates that do not comply with the regulations on Jalan Sultan Agung, the Bandung City Transportation Agency has reprimanded and trained the parking attendant," said Acting Head of the Bandung City Transportation Service, Asep Kuswara, Monday (8/4/2024).

Apart from Sultan Agung, the Bandung City Transportation Agency is also combing several other roads. One of them is on Jalan Dalem Kaum.

"Those who park on Jalan Dalem Kaum are illegal. Note: on the sidewalk," he said.

However, the parking lot which is busy on social media has a price of IDR 20,000, Asep emphasized that according to the statement, it is not at that price.

"I have confirmed, it turns out it was not IDR 20,000 but IDR 10,000, parking the motorbike IDR 5,000 and leaving the helmet IDR 5,000 thousand," he said.

"In the Perwal there is no helmet storage. So for example the buffer zone, the central zone includes helmets. That's why Bandung residents, don't park in places that are not intended for use," he said.

Apart from Sultan Agung and Dalem Kaum, the Transportation Agency also combed the Tamansari area, especially around Balubur Town Square.

"I combed one of them in Sultan Agung, Baltos, Dalem Kaum, Kepatihan. So this looks good. What would this city be like if it couldn't be regulated," he said.

For this matter, Asep also apologized for the inconvenience felt by the community.

"We apologize for the inconvenience experienced by the people of Bandung city," he said.

Asep appealed if parking rates or other violations occur. Immediately contact the Transportation Department, via the official Instagram account @bdg.dishub.

Apart from this location, the Transportation Department will also comb other locations to immediately develop parking attendants.

"Immediately report to the official Instagram account @bdg.dishub if there is a discrepancy between parking rates and locations where there is illegal parking in Bandung City," he said.

Please note, parking rates in Bandung City are regulated in Mayor Regulation (Perwal) Number 66 of 2021.

In the regulation, it is stated that one of the principles for applying this tariff rate is to pay attention to parking zones, which consist of parking zones in the city center area, city buffer areas and parking zones in suburban areas.

In the parking zone in the city center area, the rate for motorbikes is set at IDR 3,000 per hour, with the condition that every subsequent hour an additional IDR 3,000 is added. For four-wheeled motorized vehicles, three-wheeled vehicles, sedans and the like, IDR 5,000 per hour and every subsequent hour an additional IDR 5,000 is added.

In the city buffer zone parking zone, motorbikes are charged IDR 2,000 per hour, with the provision that every subsequent hour an additional IDR 2,000 is added. For four-wheeled motorized vehicles, three-wheeled vehicles, sedans and the like, IDR 4,000 per hour and every subsequent hour an additional IDR 4,000 is added.

Meanwhile, the rate for motorized vehicles transporting box and pickup type goods in parking zones in suburban areas is set at IDR 3,000 per hour and every subsequent hour an additional IDR 3,000 is added. The provisions are the same for four-wheeled motorized vehicles, three-wheeled vehicles, sedans and the like. As for motorbikes, the rate is IDR 2,000 and every subsequent hour an additional IDR 2,000 is added.
