PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government is making it easier for the public to pay their motor vehicle tax. Starting April 6, 2026, residents can fulfill their annual motor vehicle tax payment obligation without bringing the original vehicle owner's identity card (KTP).

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that people who want to pay Motor Vehicle Tax only need to bring the Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK) and the Resident Identity Card (KTP) of the party who owns the vehicle.

This convenience applies to both individual and corporate taxpayers.

"Hopefully, this convenience will streamline all Samsat services in West Java and make it easier for the public to pay taxes," said KDM, Dedi Mulyadi's nickname, Monday (6/4/2026).

In addition, this convenience is also expected to increase public awareness and compliance in paying Motor Vehicle Tax.

This policy is a response to a complaint from a resident who felt inconvenienced when paying taxes at a Samsat (Vehicle Tax Office) in West Java. The resident was asked to pay an unofficial additional fee of Rp700,000 because he did not have the vehicle's original ID card. He then uploaded a video of the incident to social media, which was discovered by KDM.

"Paying taxes should not be made difficult because the government's job is to make it easier for people to pay taxes," said KDM.

Come on, pay your Motor Vehicle Tax now to participate in realizing Special West Java.
