
PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government (Pemdakab) together with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) carried out tree planting activities in the Gunung Mas Agrotourism area, Cisarua District, Bogor Regency on Thursday (16/1/2025).
Acting (Pj.) Regent of Bogor Bachril Bakri appreciated the selection of Bogor Regency as the location for joint tree planting activities. He also expressed his pride in the commitment of the central government to participate in preserving the environment.
He also said, This was done as an effort to support environmental preservation and reduce the impact of climate change.
Furthermore, Bachril also said that Bogor Regency is the regency with the largest population after Jakarta, and we have a strong commitment to managing the environment. He explained that in principle, Pedamkab Bogor is ready to fully support this program, especially in maintaining the sustainability of forests in the 0 Km Ciliwung area.
"This tree planting is part of our joint efforts to maintain the balance of the ecosystem and reduce the risk of disasters such as floods and landslides," said the Acting Regent.
Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq reminded the importance of maintaining the sustainability of the earth by involving all parties in facing environmental challenges. He also mentioned that the global environmental crisis currently being faced, namely climate change, pollution, and loss of biodiversity, requires cross-sector cooperation.
"We are in the midst of a planetary crisis, and one of the best ways to deal with it is by planting trees. Today we plant hope, a future, and concern for the sustainability of the earth we love. Ciliwung is one of the rivers that is vital to our lives, and we must maintain its sustainability so that Jakarta and its surroundings remain safe from the threat of disaster," added the Indonesian Minister of Environment.
