PORTALJABAR, WEST BANDUNG REGENCY - The joint SAR team continues to intensify the search for landslide victims in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, Sunday (25/1/2026).

Quoting information from West Java Public Relations, apart from deploying hundreds of personnel, the evacuation process also involved twelve drones and several sniffer dogs (K9).

The Deputy Governor of West Java, Erwan Setiawan, confirmed that the victim evacuation process continues to be optimized. "We are currently working continuously. All elements are on the ground to search for victims who are still missing. God willing, with favorable weather conditions, the search can continue optimally," he said while inspecting the landslide-affected area.

In addition to emergency response, the Deputy Governor emphasized the commitment of the West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) to take firm action against violations of land conversion which are suspected to be one of the causes of the landslide in Pasirlangu Village.

Regarding affected residents, the Deputy Governor stated that the government will immediately prepare relocations to truly safe locations. The relocation locations will be determined through a joint study with various parties.

"Relocations must not be to risky locations again. We will determine safe locations that are not too far from the residents' living areas. Safety is our top priority," he stressed.

The provincial government also appreciates the continued support of all parties for their support of affected residents, including providing trauma recovery services for those experiencing psychological impacts from the landslide. (West Java Public Relations)
