PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - A landslide hit Pasir Astana Village, Pasirwaru Village, Limbangan District, Garut Regency (31/1/2024).

The Chief Executive of the Garut Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Aah Anwar Saifullah, revealed that heavy rain from afternoon to evening was the trigger for this disaster.

The Garut Regency BPBD Rapid Reaction Unit (URC) team has been dispatched to directly inspect the location of the incident. According to residents, a landslide 20 meters wide and 5 meters high damaged the Land Retaining Wall (TPT), causing the house of one resident named Euis (80) to be affected by the landslide material.

Based on reports received, the copying has been evacuated to his relative's house located at Perum Puri Kulsum in eastern Limbangan.

As reported by BPBD Garut Regency, this landslide disaster not only affected 1 resident's house, consisting of 4 families with 8 people, but also threatened 1 resident's house consisting of 1 family with 3 people.

Garut Regency BPBD coordinated with the local government, carried out assessments and provided assistance in the form of tarpaulins and sacks as the first step in dealing with this disaster. (Diskominfo Garut/Fauziah Ismi)
