PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Indonesian Child Protection Agency appreciates the National Defense program for school students initiated by the West Java Provincial Government.

The Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI), Seto Mulyadi, assessed the National Defense program as a very brilliant step because it was able to channel the potential of each child who previously had difficulty developing due to environmental and family conditions.

"From the beginning when I was asked, give me a chance. I saw it myself, I talked to the children myself," said Seto Mulyadi when met at the commemoration of National Awakening Day at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Tuesday (20/5/2025).

"So far I have concluded that this is a very brilliant step," added Seto or familiarly called Kak Seto.

According to him, the National Defense program channels the potential of every child who is basically creative, energetic and full of dynamics, but because the environment is not conducive, it ends up deviating.

Kak Seto will continue to monitor the development of the National Defense program and external evaluations if there are any shortcomings that need to be corrected.

"It still has to be evaluated until the end, some of them we will also follow so if the result is positive, please do not hesitate. Sorry, do not be embarrassed to be made a national movement," he said.

Seto reminded, formal and informal education in the family needs to be complemented with non-formal education. National Defense at Dodik Rindam III/Siliwangi Cikole Lembang, is one alternative.

"This is one example of an alternative and it was proven earlier. And I, who was more assertive, was also forced to shed tears because I was moved, earlier there was a mother who fainted," said Dedi.

Basically, said Seto, children need love from parents, teachers, including leaders.
