PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The land dispute at SMAN 1 Bandung has officially ended after the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia rejected the cassation appeal filed by the Christian Lyceum Association (PLK). The decision was recorded in the e-court system under Case Number 82 K/TUN/2026 and was handed down on Monday (March 2, 2026) with the ruling "reject the cassation."
With the rejection of the appeal, the previous decision remains in effect, and the case is legally binding. This rejection also confirms the ownership of the land at SMAN 1 Bandung as a state/West Java Province asset. Although a full copy of the decision is not yet available, the announced ruling confirms the West Java Provincial Government's victory in the dispute.
Head of the West Java Provincial Government's Legal and Human Rights Bureau, Yogi Gautama Jaelani, explained that previously the Bandung High Court had ruled in favor of the West Java Provincial Government, then the PLK filed an appeal to the Supreme Court as a final legal remedy.
"Legally, the dispute between SMAN 1 Bandung and the PLK has become final. We will monitor other ongoing processes, including the filing with the Jakarta Administrative Court (PTUN) regarding the cancellation of their legal entity. Regarding asset management, we will coordinate with the Regional Development Planning Agency (BPKAD) and the Education Office," he said on Tuesday (March 3, 2026), as reported by Tribun Jabar.
Ensure the Learning Process Runs Conducively
The Head of the West Java Education Office (Kadisdik), Purwanto, emphasized that this decision is a momentum to ensure that the learning process at SMAN 1 Bandung runs smoothly and conducively.
"We are grateful for this ruling. Most importantly, it provides legal certainty so that all school members can focus on providing educational services. State assets must be protected, and we ensure that students' rights to learn remain a top priority," he stressed.
With the cassation ruling, he said, the long-running land dispute over SMAN 1 Bandung has been legally resolved and strengthens the asset's status as state property. (Apun)
