PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung City won the 2024 Indonesian Digital Society Index (IMDI) Score Award in the Very High Category from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo RI).

The award was presented by the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information, and received by the Head of the Bandung City Communication and Information Service (Diskominfo), Yayan A. Brilyana, who represented the Acting Mayor of Bandung at The Westin, Jakarta (10/9/2024).

The IMDI ​​Score for Bandung City in 2024 is 52.99. This figure is followed by the figures that are the pillars of IMDI, namely:

Pillar 1: Infrastructure and Ecosystem 63.35
Pillar 2: Digital Skills 63.29
Pillar 3: Empowerment 23.13
Pillar 4: Employment 36.40

Head of Bandung City Communication and Information Office, Yayan A. Brilyana said, this award is the result of pentahelix collaboration between Bandung City Government and various levels. Starting from the private sector/business, media, education, and society.

"Technology is something that cannot be separated from the city of Bandung. In this city, there are many young people and many educational facilities. These two aspects are very dependent on technology, information, and communication," said Yayan.

Yayan said that every sector has an important role to play in boosting the Digital Society Index. He also ensured that currently there are no blank spots in Bandung City, so that all Bandung residents can be sure to access information easily.

"What we get is the fruit of collaboration. The government as the regulator of information and communication technology management. Then the business element that helps provide technology infrastructure, then the mass media element, and the digital user community," said Yayan.

"We also cannot forget the world of education which has contributed advice and introduced the development of this Digital Society Index," he added.

On that occasion, the Head of the Human Resources Development Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Hary Budiarto revealed that this year's National IMDI ​​recorded a score of 43.34. This figure increased by 0.16 points from 2023.

Hary said this figure aims to enable provinces, cities and districts to measure the development of Indonesian society in understanding digital.

"We present IMDI ​​so that you have an indicator in developing a digital index in your region (Province or City/Regency)," said Hary.

In addition to Bandung City, similar awards were also given to several other regions, including Buleleng, Padang City, Malang City, Central Jakarta, and Denpasar City, which also showed significant progress in implementing digitalization.
