PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - In preparation for the 2026 Digital Village Head Election, the Bekasi Regency Government held a Village Population Data Socialization and Village Data Update to support the implementation of the Village Head Election in 154 villages in 2026 at the Bekasi Regency level which took place in the KH Mamun Nawawi Meeting Room, Bekasi Regional Government Complex, Central Cikarang on Friday, (29/5/2026).
This socialization presented a resource person from the Head of the West Java Province DPMD, Mochamad Ade Afriandi and aimed to support the needs of village governance through accurate and integrated updating of population and village data in Bekasi Regency.
Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary Endin Samsudin stated that the Digital Village Head Election (Pilkada) is a new approach to village head elections. Each village will have one digital polling station (TPS) as a pilot project for implementing a digital-based election system in Bekasi Regency.
According to him, accurate, up-to-date, and integrated data is a crucial factor in supporting the smooth and successful implementation of the Digital Village Head Election.
"Our current responsibility is to collect data in the form of family cards (KK), which will be input directly by the West Java Provincial Government. This is certainly a positive step. This way, we hope the voter data will be truly accurate and in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.
Endin Samsudin added that the Bekasi Regency Government is also committed to continuing to encourage the strengthening of village data governance to make it more orderly, valid, and integrated with regional and national government systems.
"Developments in information technology must also be utilized to their full potential to support faster, more transparent, and more accountable data collection processes," Endin added.
The village head elections in Bekasi Regency will be held simultaneously in 154 villages this year. Therefore, the committee is asking for public support in collecting the necessary data.
"We ask residents, from the village government to the district government, to help collect the data the committee needs, as this is in the common interest," he explained.
The Regional Secretary hopes that this outreach will provide village officials with an understanding of the population data updating mechanism and how to implement it optimally in their respective areas.
"Hopefully, through this outreach, the capacity of village officials in managing and updating population data can be further enhanced, allowing for more effective and high-quality services to the Bekasi Regency community," he said. (Bekasi Regency Communications and Information Service/rka)
