PORTALJABAR, SUBANG REGENCY - The West Java Provincial Government has allocated 49,299 units of Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) or the Uninhabitable House (Rutilahu) repair program in 2026. This number has increased almost eightfold compared to the previous year, which only reached 6,367 units.
Each BSPS unit receives Rp 20 million in assistance. With this increased quota, the home improvement program now has a much broader reach.
Representing West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, West Java Provincial Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman said the increase in allocation was inseparable from the support of the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait and the full support of the Governor of West Java.
"Dear West Java residents, for the BSPS program, or in our language, the Rutilahu area, West Java received 49,299 units, each receiving Rp20 million. This is an increase of almost eight to nine times from the previous 6,367 units," said Herman while accompanying the Joint Housing Credit Program Socialization Working Visit of the Minister of PKP at the house renovation site in Pegade District, Gambarsari Village, Subang Regency, Monday (October 5, 2026).
Herman cited the example of Subang Regency, which received an allocation of 1,332 BSPS units this year. This figure represents a significant increase compared to the previous year, when it only received 225 units.
According to Herman, the increased allocation must be accompanied by a transparent and accountable distribution process. He also witnessed firsthand the so-called "people's tender" process in the program's implementation in Subang.
"I think this is very democratic and transparent. It's Rp20 million per unit, and it's being implemented in an accountable manner. We're following a public tender process," he said.
Herman emphasized that the BSPS program is not just about increasing the amount of aid, but ensuring that people in need truly benefit from the housing program.
To date, of the total allocation of 49,299 BSPS units for West Java, 13,432 units have been realized.
Meanwhile, government support for the housing sector has also been strengthened through the Housing Credit Program (KPP). This program has been running since 2025, with total disbursements reaching Rp115 billion to date, reaching 208 out of a total of 456 debtors.
Minister of PKP Maruarar Sirait said that Subang Regency was chosen as one of the locations for the outreach because it is a priority area for the distribution of housing loans, subsidized housing, and home renovation programs.
"We want the commitments we've signed to be more than just paper. We've already conducted outreach across Indonesia, and now it's time to put them into action. The KPP must truly be felt by the public, including in Subang," said Maruarar.
Maruar also urged all parties to work hard to ensure the program runs smoothly. Furthermore, budget support for the program to repair uninhabitable houses is already available.
"Yes, don't let it go unabsorbed. There's only 2.5 months left. Please work hard. The money is here, everything is there," said Maruar.
The government hopes that increased financial support and housing assistance will accelerate the provision of decent housing for the community and strengthen collaboration between the central and regional governments in addressing housing issues in West Java.
