PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government together with the police have prepared alternative routes for homecoming travelers for Eid 2024.
These alternative routes are on the north coast (pantura), south central and south coast routes (pansela) of West Java.
West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman explained that the alternative route was prepared to reduce the density that often occurs on the main route.
Utilization of the main road network is maximized to accommodate the movement of traffic flow.
However, the increasing volume of vehicles often results in congestion on main roads, especially at access to tourist attractions, markets and rest areas.
"Therefore, it is necessary to prepare an alternative route which is part of the main road network system," said Herman Suryatman in Bandung City, Saturday (13/4/2024).
However, Herman reminded travelers who will use the alternative route to South Central West Java that they need to consider several technical and non-technical matters, including the condition of the vehicle.
"Technical and non-technical issues must be taken into consideration such as weather, vehicle condition, and the driver's knowledge of road conditions. This is important to consider because the terrain conditions of the alternative route in South Central West Java are different from the main route," he explained.
For this reason, according to Herman, the police and the West Java Provincial Government are currently considering maximizing traffic management on the main route before directing vehicles to alternative routes.
