PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government, together with PT Kereta Api Indonesia, is presenting a train tourism program to introduce historic stations and leading destinations to the public.

The West Java Traincation program invites tourists to explore various regions in West Java via train lines rich in history and natural panoramas.

This initiative utilizes the existence of a station left over from the Dutch East Indies era which is still functioning to serve the public.

Besides being a means of transportation, these stations offer historical value, unique architecture, and interesting tourism potential.

One of the main destinations in the program is Bandung Station which has been operating since 1884.

This historic building in the center of Bandung City still maintains some of its classical architecture while providing modern transportation facilities.

Bandung Station is also connected to a feeder service to the Whoosh High Speed Train in Padalarang, making it easier for tourists to travel.

In the area around the station, visitors can find various legendary culinary delights and accommodations that support the regional tourism sector.

The next destination is Cianjur Station which has an important role in the history of the Sukabumi, Cianjur, and Bandung lines.

The station's calm atmosphere and vintage-style windows make it a favorite location for photography enthusiasts.

Cirebon Station is also an attraction because it preserves an architectural heritage that is still preserved to this day.

The building, which was built in 1912, combines Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and New Indies styles.

The building's distinctive character is evident from its symmetrical shape, high roof, and iconic tower with the Cirebon inscription.

In the Priangan region, Garut Station is one of the historical tourist destinations that attracts visitors' attention.

The station, which began operating in 1889, was reactivated in 2022 after undergoing revitalization.

The old buildings are maintained so that their historical value can be enjoyed along with the modern facilities available.

Meanwhile, Purwakarta Station offers a historical tourism experience through its well-maintained colonial buildings.

The station, which has been operating since 1902, is characterized by large windows, high ceilings and a wide roof.

The West Java Traincation program is expected to increase tourist visits and introduce West Java's historical heritage to the public.

This program also provides economic benefits to the region by increasing tourism, culinary, and business activities in the communities around the station.
