BEKASI - Acting The Regent of Bekasi, Dani Ramdan, accompanied by the Chief Executive of the Bekasi Regency BPBD and the Head of the Water Resources, Highways and Construction Services Department, reviewed the progress of work on the Sadang River Bridge at Pasar Rengas, Wanasari Village, Tuesday (21/11/2023).

Dani said that the bridge revitalization process was carried out because previously there were pillars supporting the bridge which resulted in a build-up of rubbish that was stuck, causing blockage in the flow of river water, which triggered a flood disaster in the area.

"We dismantled the Sadang Pasar Rengas River Bridge and rebuilt it with a more upward curved construction. The aim is to provide a solution to flooding caused by the old construction which is too sloping so that when the water rises the rubbish gets stuck and ends up getting blocked and flooding occurs," said Dani.

Dani said that this was an effort by the regional government to mitigate flood disasters which often occur in residential areas or densely populated housing areas. Moreover, this bridge is also a connecting bridge between Wanasari Village and Wanajaya Village.

"In addition to making this bridge stronger to support the mobility of residents, this bridge will also be built on both sides," he explained.

Head of the Water Resources, Highways and Construction Services Department, Henri Lincoln, added that the revitalization of the construction of the Kali Sadang Bridge will be a pilot project in Bekasi Regency for connecting bridges that are above river flows in order to minimize the occurrence of flood triggers due to clogged garbage below. bridge.

"The bridge we designed to arch this is a new method, and this will be a role model for future construction. "Indeed, we see quite a significant curve, so the river water can flow smoothly," he explained.
