Moka Jabar is a prestigious event for young people to become cultural and tourism ambassadors for West Java.
Moka 2024 was attended by 52 participants from 26 regencies and cities throughout West Java. In this year's Moka, Cianjur Regency did not send representatives to compete.
According to the Head of the West Java Tourism and Culture Office, Benny Bachtiar, the participants have gone through many stages including becoming champions of the pasanggiri in their respective regions.
"Alhamdulillah, from the series of events in August starting from the technical meeting, selection and so on," said Benny Bachtiar when giving his speech.
Benny said that the finalists of Moka Jabar 2024 after the event could become ambassadors who could promote the potential of tourism, culture and the creative economy in West Java.
"Remember, West Java's economic locomotive is tourism. In tourism, there are 17 economic sub-sectors that can support the people's economy," said Benny.
"This means that if tourism moves, the people's economy will automatically move," he added.
In addition to becoming West Java ambassadors, the finalists are also encouraged to build a new ecosystem to become entrepreneurs in any field so that the West Java economy can grow.
"I hope the finalists are able to build new networks and good attitudes so that they can create something better for West Java in the future," he said.
Benny also hopes that through this event, an economic ecosystem can be built so that it becomes a blessing for the people of West Java.
"Events like this can attract interest or become a positive competency event for the development of the younger generation," he concluded.
