PORTALJABAR, CIREBON REGENCY - The implementation of the Pancawaluya School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) at SMAN 1 Sumber, Cirebon Regency entered its second day, Thursday (16/7/2026).
The atmosphere is friendly, cheerful, and enjoyable. Various activities are designed to foster positive character and habits from the first day of high school.
The Deputy Principal of SMAN 1 Sumber for Student Affairs, Dadan Hamdani Mubarok, said that the series of activities on the second day began with positive habits through morning Koran reading, Happy Morning, heart rate checks, and flexibility tests.
Next, students follow the national defense material with the TNI which is combined with the practice of Marching Regulations (PBB).
During the day, the activities continued with material on the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children, digital literacy, and closed with reflection and evaluation.
According to Dadan, the entire series of activities was designed in line with the implementation of the Pancawaluya Gate character education initiated by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi.
"National defense material is an important part because it builds a spirit of patriotism and also teaches students discipline, both in learning and in various positive habits at school," he said.
He also ensured that the implementation of MPLS at SMAN 1 Sumber was carried out in accordance with the principles of MPLS Ramah Pancawaluya.
Before the activity began, the school had conducted outreach to parents through various media, including the school's social media, so that all parties understood the objectives and series of MPLS activities.
"We ensure that MPLS is safe and enjoyable. There is no bullying or inappropriate actions. Here we strengthen each other, especially for new students," he said.
This atmosphere was also felt by one of the new students, Prananda Abisecha.
He admitted that MPLS was a fun experience and also helped him adapt to the school environment.
"MPLS is really fun. I make new friends, the material is easy to understand, and the seniors are kind and fun," he said.
According to him, MPLS activities make new students more familiar with the school environment so they don't feel awkward when entering teaching and learning activities.
