PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin released 160 teams from West Java to compete in the 30th National Level Musabaqah Tilawatul Quran in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Wednesday (4/9/2024).

"This event is not just a ceremony, but an important momentum to show our commitment in fighting for the values of the Qur'an on the national stage," said Bey Machmudin.

Bey said that the contingent that attended did not only bring the great name of West Java to compete, but also a mission that must be spread to practice the values of the Qur'an to all corners of Indonesian society and even the world.

"The contingent present here are not only the best ambassadors of West Java who carry the great name of the region, but also have a mission to show how Islam as rahmatan lil-alamin can be realized through the recitation of holy verses and the practice of the values of the Al-Quran," he said.

"Every step you take is a form of struggle, devotion, and commitment to make West Java proud, as well as being an example for the younger generation in loving and appreciating the Qur'an as a virtue," added Bey.

The implementation of MTQ is not just a competition. However, Bey called it a momentum in deepening the understanding of the virtues of the Qur'an that can be practiced for everyday life.

"MTQ is not just a competition, but an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the Qur'an and the noble values in it. I hope that the participants will not only focus on the final result, but also deepen the wisdom and meaning of each verse that is recited," he said.

To the West Java contingent, Bey also advised them to uphold solidarity and togetherness when competing because that would be the strength to bring achievements for the good name of West Java.

"I entrust the good name of West Java. I believe the spirit of togetherness and solidarity that you bring will be a strength in itself. You are a big family, a solid team, and I am sure that with the prayers and support of all of us, achievements will accompany your steps," concluded Bey.
