PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Did you know that now Bandung residents can access their Population Identity Card (KTP) just from their gadgets? The government has issued a Digital Population Identity (IKD) which is stated in an electronic Population Identity Card (KTP-e/e-KTP) based on a digital application.

The IKD is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs (Permendagri) Number 72 of 2022 concerning Standards and Specifications for Hardware, Software, and Electronic Population Identity Card Forms and the Implementation of Digital Population Identity.

Digital Population Identity (IKD) is the latest digital innovation that replaces the electronic KTP (e-KTP) in application format.

With IKD, people can access their official identity directly through their smartphone. The IKD application is available on the Play Store for Android users and the App Store for iOS users.

IKD has a number of advantages, including increasing the use of population digitalization, facilitating public services, and preventing data forgery and leakage.

In addition to functioning as proof of personal identity in digital format, the IKD application is also equipped with features, such as family data, documents, electronic signatures, services, service monitoring, and others.

The IKD application is also equipped with a screen capture prevention feature that can minimize the risk of misuse of information so that it is safe to use.

In addition, by having an IKD, people will no longer need to print and store their e-KTP in physical form, but it will be embedded in their respective smartphones.

Here are the easy steps to make an IKD:
1. Download the IKD application on the Play Store or App Store.
2. Fill in your personal data such as NIK, email, and mobile number, then verify.
3. Perform Face Scanning (Face Recognition).
4. Scan the QR Code obtained at the Dukcapil Office.
5. Activation via code sent to registered email.
6. Enter the activation code and captcha to complete the process.

Requirements for Making IKD:
- Have an electronic KTP or have recorded an electronic KTP.
- Active email.
- Android or iOS based smartphone.

As a note, registration of the IKD application, needs to be accompanied by Disdukcapil officers because this registration requires strict verification and validation with face recognition technology. (Diskominfo Kota Bandung/Revo)
