PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Starting January 1 2024, the Garut Regency Pratama Tax Service Office (KPP) will limit the acceptance of Taxpayer Identification Numbers (NPWP) to only 16 digits, in accordance with the valid Population Identification Number (NIK).
Head of the Garut KPP Pratama Services Section, Judieth Ester Berliana Pangaribuan, explained this policy after being a resource person in the FOKUS radio talk show program on Intan Streaming Radio.
According to him, matching NIK with NPWP is an implementation step based on Minister of Finance Regulation Number 112/PMK.02/2021 of 2021, concerning Types and Tariffs for Types of Non-Tax State Revenue that Apply to the Ministry of Finance. Through these rules, matching is carried out to create a single identity number.
"So if residents have not validated their NPWP and NIK, of course they will experience problems later, not being able to report or make tax payments, so if they can, validate them immediately," said Judieth, Thursday (7/11/2023).
For people who have not validated their NPWP and NIK, Judieth emphasized the potential obstacles in reporting or paying taxes. The validation process can be carried out at the Garut Regency Population and Civil Registration Service (Disdukcapil) before coming to KPP Pratama or via the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) Online page, to carry out matching.
"So technically, all you have to do is enter a valid NIK number according to Dukcapil, on the online DJP page like that. That's right, you can do it from home or anywhere at any time," he said.
The people of Garut are advised to immediately match their NIK to NPWP, either directly at the tax office or online via the jasa.go.id page. This step is expected to simplify the administration process and ensure the availability of accurate data for the DGT. (Diskominfo Garut/UPI)
