PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Bekasi Deputy Regent Asep Surya Atmaja invited the Bekasi Regency Branch of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) to continue collaborating with the local government in improving the quality of services and public health.
This was conveyed by Asep when attending the Branch Conference (Muscab) and Seminar of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Bekasi Regency Branch, which was held at the Bapelkes Lemahabang Building, Bekasi Regency, Saturday (18/10/2025).
"The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) must partner with local governments because we must collaborate on many issues, such as protecting medical personnel and issuing Doctors' Practice Permits (SIP), which fall under the authority of local governments through the DPMPTSP and the Health Office," he said.
According to him, a good relationship between the IDI and local governments is key to creating a stronger and more adaptive health system.
He also emphasized the importance of regulations that provide protection for medical personnel so they can carry out their profession calmly and professionally.
"If we collaborate with the government, doctors in the field won't be afraid to examine patients. They'll be protected as long as they carry out their profession according to scientific principles and ethics," he said.
Asep also appreciated the enthusiasm of the doctors who attended the Bekasi Regency IDI Regional Conference. He believed it demonstrated the solidarity and high spirits of doctors in the region.
"The attendance was extraordinary, indicating that the Bekasi Regency IDI remains very united and enthusiastic. Despite the dynamics at the central level, we remain united at the regional level," he said.
Asep hopes that whoever is elected as the Chair of the Bekasi Regency IDI Branch can maintain synergy with the local government and become a strategic partner in formulating health policies in Bekasi Regency.
"Whoever is elected, I hope the Bekasi Regency IDI will remain a partner of the local government. There's much we can do together to improve public health," he said.
The Head of the IDI West Java Region, Mohammad Luthfi, explained that the regional congress (Muscab) is the organization's highest forum at the branch level, which has two main agendas: electing the branch chairman and formulating the policy direction of the IDI Bekasi Regency work program going forward.
"We, from the region, are providing assistance to ensure the process runs smoothly, while also providing updates on health policy, both related to services and financing," he said.
"We hope that the best candidates with vision and innovation will be selected, so that the Bekasi Regency IDI can become stronger and play a strategic role in improving public health," he said.
