PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) held a Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang) for the 2025–2029 RPJMD and 2026 RKPD in the West Hall of the Bandung Institute of Technology, Monday (28/4/2025).

The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, emphasized the importance of synchronizing the development vision of Bandung City with the development direction of West Java and the central government.

He stated that this Musrenbang discussed two important documents, namely the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) which is valid until 2029, and the 2026 Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD).

"The most important thing in this Musrenbang is how we show the synchronization between the vision and mission of the City of Bandung, namely Bandung Utama, with the vision of West Java Istimewa and the national vision of Asta Cita," said Farhan.

According to him, the development and activities of the Bandung City government must remain in line with the direction of provincial and national development. This synchronization is expected to maintain consistency and integration in realizing medium and long-term development targets.

Farhan also explained that this Musrenbang involved many parties, not only Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and Forkopimda, but also professional associations, the business world, community groups, and other stakeholders.

"Collaboration with all elements is very important to ensure that the development plan that is drawn up truly reflects the needs and aspirations of the community," he added.

In addition to discussing the RPJMD, Farhan also highlighted the discussion of the 2026 RKPD. He said that currently the City of Bandung is still facing the challenge of a budget deficit of IDR 900 billion, so a special strategy is needed to overcome it.

Meanwhile, Bandung City DPRD Member, Rendiana Awangga welcomed the preparation of this RPJMD.

According to him, this process is in accordance with the provisions that require elected regional heads to prepare the RPJMD a maximum of six months after inauguration.

"From the presentation given, it is apparent that the City of Bandung is trying to adjust national and provincial development targets. The DPRD will ensure that the campaign promises outlined in the RPJMD can be implemented properly, in order to safeguard the hopes of the people of the City of Bandung," said Rendiana.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Iskandar Zulkarnain, emphasized the readiness of the City Government ranks in completing the preparation of the RPJMD and RKPD.

"Currently, all regional apparatuses have begun discussing and providing input on their respective Strategic Plans (Renstra). We are targeting all documents to be completed in August 2025, in accordance with applicable provisions," explained Zul.

He also ensured that coordination with the DPRD was running smoothly, and was optimistic that all stages of the preparation of the RPJMD and RKPD could be completed on time, considering the fairly strict supervision from the central government.

With the implementation of this Musrenbang, it is hoped that the RPJMD and RKPD documents of Bandung City will be able to accommodate the needs of the community, answer development challenges, and realize a Bandung City that is superior, open, trustworthy, advanced, and religious.
