
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Regional Police will hold a Lodaya Candle operation in order to safeguard Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024.
This operation will be held simultaneously throughout Indonesia for 12 days starting December 22 2023 to January 2 2024.
This was what the West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police, Akhmad Wiyagus, said when leading the roll call for the 2023 Lilin Lodaya centralized police operations force in the context of securing Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024, at Gasibu Field, Bandung, Thursday (21/12/2023).
"The West Java Regional Police are ready to hold a candle operation in 2023 and are ready to secure the implementation of Christmas and New Year 2024 because they are fully supported by the TNI, Regional Government and other stakeholders as well as all elements of society who continue to contribute to creating a conducive security and social order," said Akhmad Wiyagus.
The rally was also attended by the Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin, Pangdam III Siliwangi Major General TNI Erwin Djatniko, leaders of the West Java Forkopimda, and personnel from the TNI, Polri, Transportation Service, Satpol PP, and other related organizations.
Akhmad Wiyagus said that his party had mapped the vulnerable points that needed to be watched out for disruptions to Public Security and Order.
In accordance with the direction of the Acting Governor of West Java regarding handling natural disasters, the West Java Regional Police are also ready to carry out mitigation by coordinating all regional apparatus.
"We continue to anticipate vulnerable points and handle natural disasters according to the Governor's direction. We have coordinated all apparatus to be ready to mitigate if a natural disaster occurs," he said.
Regarding convoys on New Year's Eve celebrations, Akhmad said the rules would soon be socialized to the public. It is emphasized that whatever activities are carried out, they must not disturb public order.
"The New Year convoy will of course have rules that will be conveyed to the public, the point is that whatever the activity is, it must not disturb public order," he stressed.
At the rally, the West Java Regional Police Chief read out the message from the National Police Chief, General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who stated that securing Nataru is a routine task that must be ensured that it runs safely and comfortably.
