PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Babakan Siliwangi (Baksil) City Forest has once again become a favorite destination for residents and tourists.

Not only coolness and natural beauty, Baksil now also provides educational recreational experiences on the importance of protecting the environment.

On weekends, a number of visitors can be seen walking and enjoying the coolness of Baksil. Some of them came with family members.

One of them, Umaiyah Azhar. According to him, Babakan Siliwangi City Forest is a favorite place that offers fresh air, birdsong and a cool atmosphere.

"Children really enjoy playing here. This place is also good for taking photos and there are lots of food sellers, so you don't need to be afraid of going hungry. Thank you to those who have created and maintained this place," he said, in Babakan Siliwangi, Bandung City, Sunday (16/6/2024).

In line with Umaiyah, Vania Muliani, who came with her two children after not visiting for a long time, said that this place is very suitable for retreating and enjoying nature in the middle of the city.

"Keep it clean, guys, when you come here," he remembered.

As is known, Babakan Siliwangi City Forest has been awarded the Adipura plaque as the best city forest in Indonesia in 2023.

With an area of 3.2 hectares and a 2 kilometer forest walk, this place is home to 70 types of flora and fauna such as finches, doves, squirrels and butterflies.

Visitors can enjoy various activities, from walking with family and friends, capturing moments by taking photos, to getting education about the flora and fauna in this urban forest.

Visitors will also be accompanied by a tour guide who is ready to provide in-depth information about biodiversity in the Babakan Siliwangi City Forest. Namely "Being Sultan" aka Walking in the Cool Forest Environment.

The first session takes place at 10.00-11.00 WIB and the second session at 14.00-15.00 WIB. This event is free and open to the public.

To maintain the comfort and preservation of the city forest, visitors are expected to comply with existing regulations, such as not running in the forest walk area, not carrying sharp weapons or prohibited items, not smoking, and not damaging facilities or committing vandalism.

Visitors are also advised to always throw rubbish in the right place and park in the area provided.
