PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) together with the National Police and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are ready to secure the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah through the implementation of Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026.
This readiness was marked by a Troop Roll Call held in the yard of the Bandung Police Headquarters, Thursday (12/3/2026).
Bandung City Regional Secretary, Iskandar Zulkarnain, said that security measures were implemented to anticipate increased public mobility during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, including tourist visits to Bandung City.
According to him, Bandung City as an urban tourism destination has a number of points that are often tourist destinations, such as the Asia Africa region.
"Usually, the first and second days of Eid are relatively quieter because people are still gathering with family or returning to their hometowns. However, after that, visits from outside the city begin to increase. We are certainly anticipating this, both in terms of potential congestion and safety for the public and tourists," said Zulkarnain.
He added that surveillance at various crowded areas would be carried out by joint officers, including the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Transportation Agency, and regional officers who were on standby during the Eid holiday period.
Meanwhile, the Acting Chief of Bandung Police, Senior Commissioner Adiwijaya, said that in the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026, his party deployed 1,627 personnel who were placed at various security posts.
"We have deployed 1,627 personnel at 61 posts, consisting of 16 security posts and six service posts. These posts are expected to provide services to the public, both those returning home and those continuing their activities during the Eid holiday," said Adiwijaya.
He explained that after the troop roll call was carried out, all personnel began to occupy the posts that had been prepared since 00.00 WIB.
Officers will provide security and services to the public during the Operation Ketupat period.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Transportation Agency, Rasdian Setiadi, said that the Bandung City Transportation Agency also supports security for the homecoming and return traffic by deploying hundreds of personnel.
The Bandung City Transportation Agency has deployed 701 personnel to manage traffic at several strategic points, including city entrances and routes potentially congested with traffic.
"Officers are also stationed around toll gates and terminals, and are monitoring the area 24/7 to ensure smooth traffic flow," Rasdian said.
In addition, the Transportation Agency has also prepared a main post at the Cicaheum Terminal which functions to monitor the movement of passengers arriving and departing from the city of Bandung.
The post also involved a number of regional agencies, including the Health Department, to support services for the community.
The police's Operation Ketupat Lodaya will take place from March 13–25, 2026. Meanwhile, the transportation sector's preparedness, based on a circular from the Ministry of Transportation, will be implemented until March 29, 2026. (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/rka)
