PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A total of 4,426 basic food packages were available at the Subsidized Market Operation (Opadi) in Bandung City (19/3/2025).
In Bandung City, Opadi was held at the Gedebage District Office and the Bulog Office.
Opadi was held thanks to the collaboration of the West Java Industry and Trade Service (Disperindag), Bulog, and the Bandung City Government.
In one package consists of rice (5 kg), cooking oil (2 liters), granulated sugar (1 kg) and wheat flour (1 kg). At the Gedebage District Office, 1,500 packages are provided. While at the Bandung City Bulog Office, 2,926 packages are available.
Residents also feel helped by this subsidy. Normally the package is Rp145,800. However, it is subsidized Rp73,800 so that people only pay Rp72,000 for each package.
One of the residents, Enung (52) expressed his gratitude for the subsidy activity. Because, with a price of Rp. 72,000, he had obtained various commodities which were usually only for 1 commodity.
"Thank God, it's enough for the family. Usually, Rp70,000 is for rice alone. But now there are four types for that price," he said.
He also thanked the government for its attention to the community. He said this was very helpful for everyday life.
"Thank you, this activity really helps our daily needs," he said.
Enung, who had been queuing since 07.00 WIB, was rewarded by receiving a subsidy package that could support her and her family's lives.
"We just started coming in at 07.00 WIB. I hope the government continues to reach out to the lower classes who need it like this. Because people like us are limited," he said.
In line with Enung, Rita Herawati also expressed that she was greatly helped by the existence of this subsidized market operation.
"It's very helpful, there's wheat rice, oil and sugar. This is for cooking at home," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the West Java Trade and Industry Agency, Noneng Komara Nengsih, said that Opadi is a program of the West Java Provincial Government ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
"Hopefully the third day of the Opadi implementation can stabilize prices in West Java. Price variations between regions are maintained, and there is price affordability," he explained.
According to him, based on an empirical study by the West Java Trade and Industry Office, the presence of Opadi makes people calmer and there is no fear in buying basic necessities.
"The Opadi activity quota is 143 thousand subsidy packages spread across 27 regencies/cities in West Java. Each regency/city area has two points," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
