PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government held a Subsidized Market Operation (OPADI) in 27 regencies/cities over the past week. In the OPADI, the West Java Provincial Government distributed 142,900 subsidized basic food packages.
Head of the West Java Province Industry and Trade Service, Noneng Komara Nengsih, said that OPADI aims to maintain price stability while providing a sense of security to the public in meeting basic needs ahead of Eid.
"OPADI creates a sense of security, so there is no panic buying which often triggers excessive price increases even though stocks are safe," said Noneng Komara in Bandung, Sunday (23/3/2025).
Noneng Komara reported that the prices of basic necessities are still under control although there has been an increase in several commodities such as red cayenne pepper. The West Java Trade and Industry Office also continues to monitor the prices of basic necessities through the SP2KP (Basic Necessities Market Monitoring System).
"The prices we process daily are from SP2KP (Basic Needs Market Monitoring System), which collects data from monitored markets in all regencies and cities. Prices are under control, there are no significant price increases. OPADI was implemented last week to stabilize prices," he explained.
In addition, Noneng Komara said that there is no wide variation in prices between regions. There is affordability for people whose areas are affected by price increases.
In OPADI held by Disperindag Jabar, the public can buy basic necessities at a subsidized price of Rp72,000/package. One package consists of rice (5 kg), cooking oil (2 liters), granulated sugar (1 kg) and wheat flour (1 kg).
"Of course we collaborate with the local government and Bulog, because they know exactly how much their community needs," said Noneng Komara.
