PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is holding SPHP Medium Rice Market Operations and Cheap Markets in 30 sub-districts starting today. Here Bandung residents can get SPHP rice at a price of IDR 10,600 per kilogram.

Market operations and cheap markets in Bandung City on Monday (19/2/2024) took place in 3 sub-districts, namely Buahbatu, Cibiru and Bandung Wetan.

Apart from SPHP rice, various commodities are also sold through cheap market activities. Among others:

Cooking Oil Rp. 14,000/900ml
Frozen Chicken Rp. 30,000/head
Shallots Rp. 26,000/kg
Garlic Rp. 34,000/kg
All vegetables Rp. 5,000
Beef Rp. 115,000/kg
Chicken Eggs Rp. 27,000/kg

Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, said that the operation of cheap markets and bazaars was an effort by the Bandung City Government to provide cheap food to the community. This also coincides with the increase in rice prices that the public is currently experiencing.

Even so, Bambang said that the stock of SPHP rice in the Bandung City Bulog Warehouse was still sufficient, so people did not need to panic and buy excessively.

"We don't need to panic because the rice stock in Bandung City is still sufficient," he said when reviewing market and cheap market operations on Jalan Margacinta, Buahbatu District.

Acting Head of the Bandung City Trade and Industry Service (Disdagin), Ronny Ahmad Nurudin, said that SPHP Medium Rice Market and Cheap Market Operation activities will be held from February 19 to March 1 2024.

Every day, this activity is held alternately in 3 sub-districts. The SPHP rice stock quota at each point is 10 tons.

"This is our effort to control inflation and we look at the conditions on the ground, we look at the needs of the community. "We are helping the community to be served, one of which is the need for rice," he said.

Ronny also asked the people of Bandung City to restrain themselves and not panic regarding the phenomenon of rising rice prices.

“The margin (commodity price) is around IDR 3,000 - IDR 5,000. "And we also urge the public not to panic buy," he said.

The operational activities of the SPHP Medium Rice Market and Cheap Market were enthusiastically welcomed by residents. Irma, a resident from Cipagalo, came at 05.00 WIB. He shops for SPHP rice and several other food commodities.

"This really helps the community, especially now that the price of rice is rising," he said.

Vera also said the same thing. He, who also comes from Cipagalo, hopes that cheap market activities like this can continue to be held.

“Very helpful to the community. "Hopefully there will be more activities," he said.
