PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Department of Trade and Industry (Disdagin) will hold a Cheap Market in 30 Districts on 20 November 2023 — 8 December 2023.

Head of the Bandung City Disdagin, Elly Wasliah, said that this cheap market was an effort to control the prices of basic necessities in Bandung City.

"So the sub-district level cheap market will be held on November 20-24, followed by December 4-8 2023. The city level cheap market will be held on December 11-12 2023," he explained at City Hall (9/11/2023).

Several commodities sold at the sub-district cheap market include: medium rice, premium rice, wheat flour, granulated sugar, chicken eggs, frozen chicken and other wholesale products.

"The difference with market operations is that market operations focus more on one commodity, such as rice for example. If the market is cheap, there are several commodities that can be purchased at low prices. Such as 3 kilograms of gas with the appropriate price on base, IDR 16,600," explained Elly.

Elly said that the stock of medium rice available at the sub-district cheap market is 5 tons per sub-district.

"We have committed to the Bandung City Bulog, for the low-cost market at the sub-district level, the medium rice allocation is 5 tons per sub-district. Apart from that, there are also other commodities," said Elly.

For the record, in future cheap market activities, specifically for purchasing 3 kilograms of LPG gas, the public is asked to include their Bandung City ID card. Meanwhile, for other commodities, Bandung City KTP does not need to be included.

Apart from that, there will also be a Cheap Market at the Bandung City level on 11-12 December 2023. However, this cheap market at the City level is still waiting for an announcement from the Bandung City Disdagin.
