PDAM Tirtawening Prepares Quick Response Team for Clean Water Services

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Tirtawening Regional Drinking Water Company continues to strive to improve water services to the community. One of them is by preparing a team in case of a clean water service emergency.

"We continue to strive to improve the service, in each region there is a 24-hour picket. There is also a Rapid Reaction Unit (URC) car for 24 hours," said PDAM Tirtawening Service Director, Novera Deliyasma, Saturday (5/4/2025).

Regarding the leaking pipe on Teuku Umar Street, the team from PDAM Tirtawening had repaired the leaking pipe on Sunday (30/3).

"Handling and follow-up of customer reports related to Perumda Tirtawening water leaks on Jalan Teuku Umar Gang Pohon. Officers reviewed the location conditions and on Sunday, March 30, 2025 officers began digging at the location of the leaking pipe for the leak repair process after obtaining permission from the environment and the surrounding community," he explained.

He said the leak occurred at the location where the leak occurred in a 50 mm (2 inch) PVC pipe.

During the repair process, the minimum flow time is carried out, so that the flow is not stopped.

When the work is completed, the field team checks at the District Metered Area (DMA) monitoring point. This aims to detect leaks and improve the efficiency of drinking water services.

"It so happened that the leaking pipe was small so it could be repaired in 2 days. Because it requires excavation and the process of repairing the leak," he said.

However, PDAM Tirtawening prepares emergency clean water if needed by the community.

"Thank God, we have prepared clean water if the community needs it in an emergency at that time," he said.
