PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. WEST BANDUNG - Cleaning up Citarum River rubbish in the Batujajar Babakan Sapan Bridge (BBS) area, Selacau Village, Batujajar District, West Bandung Regency, can be completed today, Monday (15/7/2024).
The rubbish that previously piled up under the BBS Bridge is now clean again.
Dansatgab Colonel Kav. Edward Francis said that cleaning up rubbish at the location involved 215 joint personnel from the TNI, Polri, West Java Water Resources Service, Citarum River Basin Center (BBWS), and the surrounding community.
"As long as the cleaning process goes smoothly, there are no significant obstacles," said Edward.
Edward continued, the cleaning process uses heavy and light equipment such as various types of excavators, boats, dump trucks and several other supporting equipment.
"The activities carried out are lifting rubbish to the banks, transporting rubbish to TPS, then installing rubbish separator equipment so that it gathers at one point to make it easier for excavators to work," he said.
Currently, according to Edward, there is a large amount of waste still piled up on the riverbanks to be lifted and gradually transported to the TPS.
Edward asked people to stop throwing rubbish into rivers for the sake of comfort, health and the common good.
"We will continue to monitor it next. We won't stop here," said Edward.
