PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Regional Government invites all business actors in Bandung City, especially those in the Jalan Asia Afrika and Jalan Braga areas, to make the Asia Afrika Festival (AAF) a success which will be held on 6-7 July 2024.
Acting (Acting) Mayor of Bandung Bambang Tirtoyuliono said, this year's AAF will be held well if there is participation from all stakeholders including business actors.
"The Asia Africa Festival is the celebration of the City of Bandung. The name of the City of Bandung is at stake at the international level. Let's work together to present the 'someahna' of the City of Bandung so that it has value and conveys it to our respective countries," said Bambang when leading a coordination meeting with Braga Short business actors in Braga Permai, Saturday (29/6/2024)..
This year, AAF will be attended by 28 delegates from Asian and African countries. This number of delegates is more than the AAF in 2023, which amounted to 17 delegates.
Bambang said, this year AAF will be more lively with the presence of the Asia Afrika Corner which will be filled with 40 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) stands. For this reason, the role of business actors is very important for the success of AAF this year.
"There will be a closure in Braga Short for the Asia Afrika Corner. For this reason we invite business actors there. Because there must be a joint commitment. We want to collaborate, the government can't do anything unless we work together," he said.
Bambang hopes that holding AAF will boost tourism and spur the rate of economic growth in the city of Bandung.
"This is the desire of all of us. Thank you for your support. Let's work together to make this AAF a success so that people flock to the city of Bandung," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Assistant for Economy and Development Eric Mohamad Atthauriq also hopes that the momentum of the Asia Africa Festival can provide an economic boost in the city of Bandung.
"The economy of Bandung City in 2023 will experience a slowdown. This is the momentum to boost the economy of Bandung City. Especially increasing the leverage of business actors around the alun-alun and Braga," he said.
Eric said that the economic improvement was visible in hotel occupancy rates around the Asia and Africa area which had increased to 100 percent.
"Hotel occupancy is already full. During Covid-19, occupancy decreased. It is hoped that hotel occupancy will be full, including business actors who are increasingly busy. Hopefully business actors will get economic benefits from this AAF," he said.
At this meeting, business actors on Jalan Braga Short agreed and committed to jointly make the Asia Afrika Festival 2024 a success. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Revo)
