PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Mayor of Bandung, A. Koswara plans to establish several main policies to overcome traffic jams in Bandung City.

One of the priority programs that will soon be launched is regulating the operating hours of various sectors, such as education, offices, and goods vehicles.

This policy aims to reduce traffic jams that often occur during rush hour.

Koswara explained that this policy is planned to be socialized in the next two weeks.

"We will regulate the operating hours for education, office hours, and operating hours for goods vehicles. In two weeks, we will start to socialize the regulation," he said, Thursday (10/17/2024).

Based on his observations, traffic jams in Bandung tend to decrease during school holidays.

"Every time there is a school holiday, we see traffic congestion is much reduced. This shows that school and work hours have a big impact on traffic conditions," said Koswara.

The initial step of this program will be done by regulating the working hours of civil servants (PNS). This regulation is expected to divide traffic flow more evenly throughout the day, so as to reduce vehicle volume during peak hours.

After that, the regulation of operational hours for goods vehicles will also be implemented, considering that large vehicles often cause congestion on the city's main routes.

Furthermore, Koswara said that his party had started discussions with various parties, including the Transportation Agency, to ensure that this policy runs well.

He is optimistic that this policy will have a positive impact in reducing congestion in the city of Bandung.
