PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - In preparation for the implementation of the Simultaneous Regional Elections on November 27, the Bandung City Government is holding socialization and training involving teachers from SMA, SMK, and MA throughout Bandung City.

This socialization aims to ensure that students who are or will be 17 years old before the regional elections understand and exercise their voting rights correctly.

Assistant for Government and Public Welfare of Bandung City, Asep Saeful Gufron said, according to the latest data from the Bandung City Population and Civil Registry Office, the number of registered new voters has increased significantly.

However, it is known that around 6,000 new voters have not yet recorded their e-KTP, which is the main requirement to be able to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming Simultaneous Regional Elections.

"We are optimistic that on November 27, all students who are 17 years old will have e-KTP and be ready to cast their votes," said Asep at the Horison Hotel (21/8/2024).

“We invite teachers today so they can take inventory of students who will be 17 years old and coordinate with the local sub-district to schedule the making of e-KTP,” he added.

Asep also said that to ensure that all new voters get the same opportunity, the Bandung City Population and Civil Registry Office is also holding a mobile e-KTP recording service in various locations that require it, especially schools that have a sufficient number of new voter students.

"It continues to grow until election day," he said.

Asep also appealed to the entire community, especially new voters, to participate in maintaining security and preservation conditions during the Simultaneous Regional Elections.

"Let's keep this Simultaneous Pilkada peaceful, safe, and conducive. On November 27, let's flock to the TPS to channel our political aspirations," said the Assistant for Government and Public Welfare of Bandung City.

"With this socialization, it is hoped that all elements of society, especially new voters, can actively participate in the Simultaneous Pilkada, in order to elect a leader who will bring Bandung City forward in the next five years," he concluded.
