PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government is giving awards to outstanding civil servants (PNS) in the West Java Province.

In the 2024 Outstanding Civil Servant Award held at the Trans Convention Center Bandung, Tuesday (3/12/2024), 61 outstanding civil servants were nominated for several categories.

The first category, the Best Performing West Java Provincial Government Employees, as many as 46 PNS. Divided into three quarters I, II, III, each 15 PNS, as well as a special award for PNS in High Leadership Positions in quarter II, namely the Head of West Java Communication and Information Office Ika Mardiah.

Then, the Future Leader category, the Innovative category, and the Inspirational category, each selected three best civil servants from five nominations in each category. For these three categories, civil servant nominations were taken from the district/city government and the West Java Provincial Government.

Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin appreciated the results of the work of civil servants in the form of performance, innovation, achievements, and inspiration. What the best civil servants do is real evidence and dedication to serving the community.

According to Bey, ASN must be role models in community service by bringing positive changes to regional development.

"That is what must be considered, that civil servants who are high achievers, innovative, inspiring, future leaders must be present and their benefits must be felt by the community," said Bey Machmudin.

Therefore, said Bey, civil servants as one of the driving forces in development need to realize that West Java's future challenges will be increasingly large and complex.

At the regional level, development challenges include improving public services, digitizing bureaucracy, and eradicating various socio-economic problems.

At the global level, civil servants are faced with rapid changes due to technological developments, geopolitical dynamics, and the impact of climate change.

"In facing these challenges we need the ability to continue to learn, adapt and innovate," he said.

"Maybe next year, for the award, the main requirement will be to sort the waste at home," said Bey.

According to Bey, sorting waste is the responsibility of every citizen. In society, it must start from oneself and civil servants as role models.

All civil servants nominated for the 2024 Achievement Civil Servant Award have passed five stages of selection, starting from administration, interviews, visits, presentations, and idea contests. All civil servants nominated receive cash prizes of varying amounts, as additional motivation.

The best civil servants of West Java will later be selected again to advance to the national level civil servant achievement award or Adhigana Cup.
