PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Acting Regent of Bekasi Dedy Supriyadi welcomed the planting of 45,000 mangrove trees on the coast of Muaragembong Beach initiated by PT Sugity Creatives in Kp. Beting, Pantai Bahagia Village, Muaragembong District, Saturday, (2/11/2024).
Dedy said, the Muaragembong Mangrove Forest CSR program of PT. Sugity Creatives in collaboration with the Bahagia Berkarya (Kebaya) Group of Pantai Bahagia Village, as a concrete and strategic step in preserving the mangrove forest on the northern coast of Bekasi Regency.
"Yes, this activity is a form of concern, commitment, and attention from PT Sugity Creatives towards the sustainability of the ecosystem and maintaining, saving and protecting future generations," he said.
According to Dedy, planting mangroves not only helps reduce the impact of global warming. But it can also reduce carbon emissions sustainably.
Dedy said, to maintain the sustainability of mangrove forests in overcoming sea abrasion, the Bekasi Regency Government (Pemdakab) plans to carry out massive mangrove planting of around 2,400 hectares in the Muaragembong coastal area.
"Handling abrasion in coastal areas is one of the priority agendas of the Bekasi Regency Government in the future, therefore the Bekasi Regency Government continues to strive to overcome this problem. Among them are through mangrove planting programs, implementation and concrete efforts involving various parties and cross-sector collaboration," he explained.
Through this momentum, it is expected that social and economic life in coastal areas, especially in Muaragembong District, will improve. So that the sustainability of this ecosystem can be felt by coastal communities and future generations.
"Hopefully this activity can provide a sustainable impact on the environment and the surrounding community. I also invite you to be consistent and maintain this commitment to preserve nature for future generations," he said.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Sugity Creative Masasi Suzuki, represented by General Manager in charge of CSR program Dudung Sahdu added that mangrove planting is one of the priority programs of CSR of PT. Sugity Creatives in overcoming environmental problems.
"So these are the 3 pillars of our CSR in addressing environmental problems, especially in reducing the impact of global warming, reducing carbon emissions from vehicles and increasing CO2 absorption," he said.
Dudung said that the program has been running since 2022. In this third year, the total mangrove planting that has been realized by CSR PT. Sugity Creatives has reached 45,000 trees.
"This program has started since 2022, in the last two years we have planted 30,000 trees with 85 percent growth accuracy and the rest in 2024 we will complete so that we can meet the target of 45,000," he said.
Dudung added, in addition to Muaragembong District, PT. Sugity also contributed to planting trees on 25 hectares of land located in the Karang Kitri Camping Ground, Bojongmangu District.
