PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Bekasi Regent, Ade Kuswara Kunang signed a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower in the context of synergy of employment data. The signing, which carries the theme Synergy for the Country, took place at the Tri Dharma Building, Indonesian Ministry of Manpower, Jakarta, on Thursday (20/3/2025).
In addition to Bekasi Regency, six other regions also participated in the signing of this cooperation, namely Bandung City, Binjai City, Subang Regency, Asahan Regency, South Halmahera Regency, and Batang Regency.
Deputy Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Immanuel Ebenezer stated that this collaboration aims to support President Prabowo's priority program in reducing unemployment rates by increasing quality employment opportunities.
"This memorandum of understanding aims to improve the employment information system and integrate public services in the employment sector nationally to reduce unemployment rates," he said.
Bekasi Regent, Ade Kuswara Kunang, represented by the Acting Head of the Bekasi Regency Manpower Office, Nur Hidayah Setyowati emphasized that this collaboration will integrate employment data, including information on job training, workforce productivity, workforce placement, and aspects of workforce supervision.
"This data includes job training, workforce productivity, workforce placement, development and expansion of job opportunities, labor market information, labor supervision, occupational health and safety, industrial relations, social security, and other data as needed," he explained.
He added that the data could be implemented and collaborated between companies, ministries, and regions that had signed this collaboration.
"If there is no comprehensive data, policies taken to reduce unemployment or increase employment will be ineffective and inefficient," he explained.
With this collaboration, it is hoped that the synergy between the Ministry of Manpower and local governments can create a more integrated, accurate, and comprehensive employment data system.
Well-organized data will be the basis for formulating more effective and efficient policies in overcoming unemployment and improving the quality of the workforce in Indonesia.
In addition, this collaboration is expected to accelerate labor absorption, expand employment opportunities, and improve worker welfare through more targeted data-based policies. (Bekasi Regency Government Public Relations/rka)
