PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government continues to optimize the absorption of local workers through cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) and support from the industrial sector.

This effort was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Tri Dharma Building, Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, on Thursday (20/3/2025).

In addition to Bekasi Regency, this collaboration also involves Bandung City, Binjai City, Subang Regency, Sijunjung Regency, Asahan Regency, Halmahera Regency, and Batang Regency. A number of large companies from industrial areas in the eight regions also attended the agenda.

Bekasi Regent, Ade Kuswara Kunang, said that this collaboration aims to increase job opportunities for the people of Bekasi Regency. One of the main steps is to share job seeker data with other regions that have collaborated under the coordination of the Ministry of Manpower.

"From this collaboration, regional job seeker data will be connected to other districts and cities. This will open up greater opportunities for local workers to be absorbed in various industrial sectors," said Ade.

In addition, the Bekasi Regency Government also encourages the industrial sector to prioritize local workers in the recruitment process. Ade emphasized that communication with companies will continue to be strengthened so that this policy runs effectively.

"We encourage our companies to prioritize workers from Bekasi Regency. In addition, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program is also expected to provide more productive benefits, such as road infrastructure development or provision of educational facilities," he explained.

The Bekasi Regency Government hopes that this cooperation can increase the absorption of local workers and reduce unemployment rates. With the support of the Ministry of Manpower and industry, the workforce from Bekasi Regency is expected to be more competitive.

In the future, the Bekasi Regency Government will continue to ensure that this policy runs effectively so that its benefits are felt by the community. (Diskominfosantik Kab. Bekasi/Fauziah)
