
PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government continues to strive to accelerate recovery after the flood disaster that hit a number of sub-districts.
Recovery steps are carried out by collaborating with local and foreign private parties, especially in repairing public facilities affected by the flood.
Based on data from the Bekasi Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), currently there is still one flood point in Kampung Baru Setia Mekar, RT 03/04, Hurip Jaya Village, Babelan District.
Bekasi Deputy Regent, Asep Surya Atmaja said that recovery efforts include river normalization, repair of public facilities such as places of worship, schools, health centers, and data collection on agricultural land affected by the flood.
"Today we received representatives from the Latter-Day Saint Humanitarian Center Charities Indonesia Foundation from the United States. They want to help with post-flood recovery, especially in repairing public facilities such as integrated health posts, schools, and health centers," said Asep after an audience at the Regent's Meeting Room, Regent's Building, Bekasi Regency Government Complex (14/3/2025).
The Bekasi District Government will submit a list of public facilities affected by the flood so that it can be adjusted to the focus of assistance from the foundation.
Asep emphasized that the regional government continues to collaborate with various parties in recovery efforts, including previously with private parties from China.
"We will continue to develop post-disaster recovery acceleration, considering the impact of the flood that has caused many losses. Permanent handling through collaboration is a positive step," he added.
In addition, a team of health workers from medical organizations is also scheduled to provide assistance to affected communities in Babelan District.
Asep emphasized that handling floods and their impacts requires ongoing collaboration from various parties.
The Bekasi District Government is committed to continuing to accelerate post-flood recovery through various strategic steps, including infrastructure repair, restoration of public services, and assistance for affected communities.
Collaboration with the private sector, both local and foreign, is one of the main strategies in ensuring the recovery process runs optimally and sustainably.
In addition, long-term mitigation efforts will also be strengthened to minimize the risk of similar disasters in the future.
