PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - To improve the skills and knowledge of PMR members in the field of first aid, the Bogor Regency Government (Pemdakab) in synergy with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Bogor Regency held the Tridaya Junior Red Cross (PMR) competition at the Mula Madya Wira level throughout Bogor Regency in 2024, which took place at the Tegar Beriman Field and Building, Cibinong, Saturday (12/10/24).

Representing the Acting Regent of Bogor, Acting Head of the Bogor Regency Health Office Agus Fauzi said that the PMR competition from an early age is a very important initiative in an effort to foster a young generation who have high concern for others and are skilled in providing first aid.

"We hope that through the exciting and challenging competition, participants are invited to hone their skills in dealing with various emergency situations that may occur in everyday life," explained Plt. Kadinkes.

On this occasion, he advised the participants to use the momentum of this competition as a means to increase their preparedness in facing natural disasters, remember every second is very valuable in providing first aid.

"On behalf of the Bogor Regency Government, we welcome and appreciate the holding of this event as a means of friendship and evaluation of benchmarks for PMR volunteers from an early age to train skills in the fields of first aid, family care, RPS Stretcher, and quizzes, all of which are very useful for themselves and of course for others who need help," he explained.

Then, Deputy Chairperson of PMI Bogor Regency Nano Supriatna said that the purpose of implementing this competition activity was, firstly, to provide superior PMR volunteers as the young generation of the Red Cross, secondly to increase synergy between PMI Bogor Regency and schools in the area.

For your information, the types of competitions that will be held consist of First Aid Competition, Resilient Agility Competition, Smart Agility Competition, Healthy and Caring for Others Youth Competition, with a total of 165 schools participating with an average of 16 participants per school, so that the total is 2,640 people with participants from 36 sub-districts in Bogor Regency.

"Of course we are grateful for the support of the Bogor Regency government and all parties who have helped to organize this competition. Hopefully this event can run smoothly and be carried out well, hopefully by implementing this competition it will produce a generation that is sensitive to helping others," he added.
