PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - The Bogor Regional Government is ready to support IPB University's development plans in the Dramaga and Jonggol District areas. The development of this area will have an impact on increasing community access to services.

This was stated by Acting. Bogor Regent, Asmawa Tosepu at the IPB University Town Area Development Plan Coordination Meeting, at the IPB Campus Rectorate Building, Dramaga.

"The Bogor Regional Government is encouraging the development of this area to be realized in order to increase community access to services. Because the current condition of the Bogor Regency Government's reach is very wide, namely 40 sub-districts. "It is hoped that the development will build infrastructure that will have a positive impact on the community," said Acting. Regent of Bogor.

Asmawa explained that Bogor Regency is divided into three development areas, one of which is the western development area which consists of 14 sub-districts including Dramaga.

"In the Bogor Regency RT/RW Draft Regional Regulation which is currently in the determination stage, Dramaga District is a regional service center which is a satellite of the Leuwiliang local activity center and is designated as a strategic area for IPB University Town," explained Asmawa.

Asmawa said that the Bogor Regional Government is ready to support the development of IPB University in the Dramaga and Jonggol areas. If then there must be a cooperation mechanism between IPB and the Bogor Regency Government, that is a normative matter that must be followed.

"Essentially, the Bogor Regional Government's policy, God willing, will be in favor of the IPB development plan itself. "Because IPB University is a university of pride, not only for Bogor Regency but for Indonesia," he said.

The Chancellor of IPB University, Arif Satria, explained that currently we are planning to build IPB University Town in Dramaga and develop IPB University in the Jonggol area. IPB owns land in Jonggol District or in the East Bogor Regency area. In the future, Jonggol will be used as an IPB campus.

"Currently we still need broadcasting access, so we ask for support from the government," explained Arif.

Arif added that the concept of developing the IPB University Town area was first as a place for education, second as a place for research, third as a place for tourism, fourth as a place for business, and fifth as a place for empowerment.

Director General of Public Works and Housing Infrastructure Financing, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, Herry Trisaputra Zuna, revealed that regarding the IPB University Town development plan, it is building an integrated ecosystem that can provide benefits to the community.

"It remains to be seen how the government program can be collaborated with this plan, including the development of adequate road infrastructure, for national roads being the obligation of the central government, and existing roads being carried out by the Bogor Regency Government," said Herry Trisaputra.
