PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab) through the Bogor Regency Transportation Service (Dishub) is providing a free online-based Motor Vehicle Testing (KIR) service via the Bogor Regency "KIR Brake" application for all goods transport vehicle owners and people domiciled in Bogor Regency.

The public can easily get KIR Test services through online registration on the REM KIR Bogor Regency application which can be accessed via the Play Store.

In fact, the KIR Test service is provided free of charge or without charge, which takes place from Monday to Friday from 08.00 WIB to 15.00 WIB.

Please note, payment matters are in accordance with Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Central and Regional Financial Relations as well as Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 11 of 2023 concerning Regional Levy Taxes. Starting January 1, 2024, the motor vehicle testing service will be non-retributable or free.

Meanwhile, with regard to motor vehicle testing, in accordance with Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 19 of 2021 concerning Motor Vehicle Testing, every vehicle transporting people and goods is required to carry out motor vehicle testing every 6 months.

Secretary of the Transportation Service (Dishub) Dadang Kosasih said that related to motor vehicle testing or KIR testing in Bogor Regency, it is one of the centers for vehicle testing at the West Java and national level, one of which is online services and drive thru KIR testing.

"With this free KIR test service, I ask that the public is obliged to carry out a motorbike test for vehicle fitness at least once every six months. "This is our effort to provide convenience and relief so that people care more about the health of their vehicles," he said, Tuesday (23/4/2024).

Head of the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency's Periodic Motor Vehicle Testing Section, Deni, explained that with the KIR test, the vehicle will be checked thoroughly to ensure that all important components such as brakes, lights, tires and steering systems are functioning properly. This helps prevent accidents caused by mechanical or technical failures in the vehicle.

"Of course we want to provide services to the community to ensure that transport vehicles are in roadworthy condition. So that the vehicle can operate on the road in accordance with applicable regulations. "The vehicle testing process will minimize fatalities in road accidents," he said.

Deni said, the requirements before carrying out the first KIR STNK test according to Bogor Regency domicile, are to have a KTP and NIB for the company, and are required to have a type test registration letter (SRUT).

"For vehicles that pass the KIR test, we will immediately issue a test card or smart card that we print which is integrated with the Ministry of Transportation. "Meanwhile, for vehicles that do not pass the test, we will issue a certificate of failure to pass the test and we hope that the vehicle will be repaired as soon as possible for re-testing at the motor vehicle testing building," he said.

According to Deni, although KIR test registration has been carried out using an online system, his party is still opening offline registration through the Bogor Regency Transportation Service counter, especially for vehicle transfers and periodic KIR tests.

"We urge all people who have vehicles, especially vehicles transporting people and goods, to be disciplined in registering and testing motorized vehicles regularly to minimize traffic accidents," he said.
