PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government (Pemdakab) launched the Foster Parents Movement for Stunting Children (Genting) program at the Tamansari Stunting Prevention House (Ceting).
The launch of the Genting program was carried out directly by the Acting Regent of Bogor Bachril Bakri and was attended directly by the Minister of Population and Family Development/Head of the Indonesian BKKBN Wihaji at the Ceting Tamansari House, Friday (13/12/2024).
This program aims to provide direct support to families with stunted children through mentoring and nutritional assistance.
The launch of the Genting program was enthusiastically welcomed by various parties, from the government, the community, to non-governmental organizations. Through this program, it is hoped that a strong synergy can be established in efforts to prevent and handle stunting in Bogor Regency.
Bachril explained, with the presence of Rumah Ceting and Genting, the Bogor District Government has succeeded in reducing stunting rates by 57.4 percent. In addition to focusing on stunted children, Genting also handles pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency (KEK) assisted by Health Workers (Nakes) from the Stunting Care Health Center who provide education, socialization and vitamins.
"There are 202 Health Workers from the Stunting Care Community Health Center who will handle children with stunting status and pregnant women with KEK, to improve the healthy growth of children and pregnant women so that stunting reduction can be realized immediately in Bogor Regency," he said.
Minister of Population and Family Development/Head of BKKBN RI Wihaji said that today his party directly observed the activities at Rumah Ceting and Genting in Bogor Regency which had been launched some time ago.
"To see the accuracy of the target of this program, this Genting program is a real step in providing special attention to stunted children. With the presence of foster parents, it is hoped that children can grow and develop optimally and be free from stunting," he said.
