PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Ahead of the 2025 Eid al-Fitr holiday, the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency (Dishub) and the Bogor Regency Civil Service Police Unit have made thorough preparations to secure the flow of Eid homecoming, with a number of significant improvements compared to the previous year both in terms of increasing the number of personnel and other infrastructure.
Head of Dalops Division, Bogor Regency Transportation Agency, Dadang conveyed several steps and strategies that have been prepared to ensure smooth travel for the public.
One of the major updates is the increase in the number of personnel involved. Last year, the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency deployed 320 members, while this year the number has jumped to 483 members.
"This year's readiness is much better, with more personnel to anticipate the density of homecoming traffic," he explained.
In addition, the number of security post points (pospam) has also increased. Last year there were 9 posts, while this year there are estimated to be 10 posts, with one backup post that can be activated if needed.
"We added one post because of the predicted increase of around 1 percent in vehicle volume. The reserve post is ready to be activated if conditions require," added Dadang.
Regarding operational hours and division of tasks, the deployment of the security team will start from March 24 to April 8, 2025, with a possible extension until April 10.
Security is carried out in rotation with a three-shift system, each lasting 8 hours per shift, to ensure that each post can operate 24 hours. Each post will be guarded by 50 members per day.
Bogor Regency Transportation Agency also prepared a free homecoming program as a form of service to the community. This year, the free homecoming program will use 32 bus fleets, consisting of 20 buses owned by Transportation Agency, 12 buses from Polres, with a capacity of 1,200 passengers. This program is focused on Bogor Regency residents, including Bogor Regency Government employees.
"For free homecoming, we only provide departures, while for the return, the community will arrange it themselves," said Dadang.
The Bogor Regency Transportation Agency is also mapping out points prone to congestion that need more attention. The three main areas that will be monitored are the Puncak area, the western region (Dramaga to Leuwiliang), and the eastern region (Cibubur to Cileungsi).
"We will ensure the smooth flow of homecoming traffic at these five main points, with special priority in the Puncak area which is known as a dense point during the Eid holiday. With all these preparations, we hope to provide comfort and smoothness to the people celebrating Eid in their hometowns, while reducing the potential for congestion that often occurs during the homecoming season," he said.
Then, the Head of Bogor Regency Satpol PP, Cecep Imam, emphasized that this year's Eid security will be more optimal and structured, in line with the direction of the Bogor Regent who prioritizes the comfort and safety of the community.
Cecep Imam explained that one of the security priorities is maintaining order in residential areas left by their owners when they return home.
"We have instructed every Head of the Civil Service Police Section in the sub-district to conduct routine patrols, especially to monitor housing abandoned by residents. This aims to anticipate potential criminal acts and ensure the security of houses abandoned by their residents," said Cecep Imam.
Satpol PP also strengthened the presence of security posts at various strategic points in Bogor Regency. There are 9 security posts built in areas such as Gadog, Cisarua, Cigombong, Leuwiliang, Cileungsi, Laladon, Rancakarsa, Cibinong, and Parung Panjang.
"At each of these posts, Pol PP officers will work together with Muspika and Forkopimcam to maintain order. Some points are considered vulnerable and need more attention," explained Cecep.
In fact, the plan for a joint roll call in the framework of Operation Ketupat Lodaya will be implemented to prepare for comprehensive Eid security.
"We will hold a joint roll call tomorrow, which will involve all elements of the police, TNI, and the Transportation Agency. In addition, Satpol PP also plays a role in securing the homecoming flow funded by the Police and Transportation Agency, with several buses that will depart from Pakansari," he explained.
In addition to securing the homecoming route, the Bogor Regency Satpol PP will also pay attention to tourist areas, especially in the Puncak, Babakan Madang, and eastern areas of Bogor Regency which are now starting to be visited by many tourists.
"We will coordinate with Forkopimcam, the police, and the TNI to ensure that tourist attractions remain safe and orderly. Satpol PP will also increase security on routes that are prone to congestion and crowds, such as in Ciawi, Cisarua, Parung, and Citeureup," said Cecep.
Cecep revealed that there was an increase in the number of personnel involved in securing this year's Eid, which will involve around 200 personnel, including from sub-districts that have objects passed by the homecoming flow.
In addition to security on the homecoming route, Satpol PP will also provide an appeal to the community and local sub-districts regarding security at spillover markets or market areas passed by the homecoming route.
"We will issue a letter of appeal to the sub-district heads in areas with overflowing markets, such as Ciawi, Cisarua, Parung, and Citeureup, to implement tighter security there to prevent traffic jams and maintain order," added Cecep.
Bogor Regency Satpol PP is committed to working together with all elements of government and society to create a safe and conducive atmosphere during Eid.
"We agree with the Regent that our mission is for people who are going home to depart safely and return comfortably without any disturbance of order," said Cecep. (Public Communication Team / Bogor Regency Communication and Information Service / rka)
