PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab) together with IPB University and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) discussed cooperation plans, following up on plans to organize the Dramaga area through the Dramaga University Town concept.

Acting Regional Secretary (Sekda) Bogor Regency Suryanto Putra attended the discussion directly, in Meeting Room B, IPB IICC Botani Square, Bogor City, Friday (17/5/2024).

Suryanto explained that today's meeting was a follow-up to the previous meeting between the Acting Regent of Bogor, the Director General of Public Works and Housing Infrastructure Financing of the Ministry of PUPR, and the Chancellor of IPB University who discussed the restructuring of IPB University in accordance with the District's Detailed Spatial Planning Plan (RDTR). Bogor in the Dramaga area.

"At the previous meeting we had a lot of discussions, which were followed up today by discussing the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which we will agree on together. "It is hoped that the arrangement of the Dramaga area through the Dramaga University Town concept will reduce traffic jams in West Bogor," he said.

Suryanto said that in essence the Bogor District Government supports the collaboration that will be carried out to organize the Dramaga area. He appreciated that IPB University and the central government were both thinking about how to organize the Dramaga and West Bogor areas.

He said that this arrangement was very necessary, especially in supporting plans to build a ring road from Leuwiliang to Rancabungur, then the development of the Dramaga ring road.

"If the Bogor Regency Government moves, the central government moves, IPB University moves, God willing, this arrangement can be realized well. "At least we have prepared for when West Bogor becomes a new autonomous region," he said.

Deputy Chancellor of IPB University for innovation research and agromaritime development, Ernan Rustiadi, said that today he was discussing cooperation in developing Dramaga University Town, which also includes arranging the area around the IPB campus in Dramaga.

The trend of developing urban areas due to the presence of universities is occurring in various countries, including Indonesia.

"What usually happens is that the campus develops, there are more and more students, and the impact is that there is congestion in the surrounding area. "So there is a desire for us to make arrangements around the IPB Dramaga campus, which is growing so rapidly, before the development gets out of control," he said.

Ernan added that the PUPR Ministry and the Bogor Regional Government welcomed this collaboration, including the plan to develop a toll road that will pass through the IPB campus in Dramaga, the Dramaga ring road, and the Leuwiliang - Rancabungur ring.
