PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Garut Regency, Didit Fajar Putradi, appreciated the holding of the Garut Institute of Technology (ITG) Festival in 2025.
This appreciation was conveyed when attending an event themed "From Local Roots To Global Heights" at the ITG Campus, Garut Regency, Saturday (12/4/2025).
"On behalf of the Garut Regency Government, we express our highest appreciation for the holding of the 2025 Garut Institute of Technology (ITG) Festival with the theme From Local Roots To Global Heights," he said.
He further emphasized that this festival is not just a celebration of technology, but a reflection of ITG's global concern and image.
"This is certainly not just a technology festival, but it is a fact of globalization that ITG cares, has a global image and does not only talk about technology," he said.
Didit also conveyed the optimism of the Garut Regency Government (Pemdakab) regarding ITG's potential to achieve success at the global level.
"Of course, it is a statement of optimism that ITG has a dream and has the capacity and ability to break the global record," he said.
He also emphasized the importance of mastering technology for the young generation of Garut.
He hopes that the 2025 ITG Festival will not only be a place to showcase works and ideas but also a space for dialogue, a space for mutual cooperation, a space for mutual assistance to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Garut Regency. From campus to community, from local to world.
At the end of his speech, Didit congratulated the event on its success.
"I congratulate you on participating in this series of activities, hopefully it will produce the best ideas, networks and works to jointly continue the vision of Great and Sustainable Garut for Special West Java and for Golden Indonesia in 2045," he said.
The Chief Executive of the 2025 ITG Festival, Riski Ramadhan, explained that this activity was ITG's first agenda with the theme "From Local Roots To Global Heights" which was held for two days, namely on April 11-12, 2025.
"The purpose of holding this activity is in line with ITG's motto, namely global competitiveness from local wisdom," he said.
Riski added, ITG does not only focus on teaching and research, but also on community service.
"We from ITG as a university do not only focus on teaching and research but we also have community service and of course as part of this service we also want to contribute to improving the quality of human resources in West Java, especially in Garut Regency," he said.
"So, we specifically created this event to help Garut Regency to improve the quality of community human resources in the field of competence," he said.
The series of activities for the 2025 ITG Festival include various competitions at the high school level throughout West Java (English and Esports Competitions), a bazaar, and blood donation.
Riski hopes that this festival can produce a young generation that is adaptive, innovative, creative, and competitive at the national and global levels.
"The young generation in the future can be a generation that is adaptive, innovative, creative and can compete not only nationally but globally," he said.
Also present were the Chairman of the Almusadadiyah Foundation, representatives of the West Java Provincial Education Office (Disdik), the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Garut Regency, representatives of the Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag) of Garut Regency, and representatives of the Garut Police.
