PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Approaching the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the Garut Regency National and Political Unity Agency (Bakesbangpol) plans to distribute 40 thousand red and white flags to the people of Garut.
Head of the Domestic Politics and National Insight Division of the Garut Regency Bakesbangpol, Acep Ismail, revealed this plan after attending a Zoom Meeting Evaluation Meeting on the Implementation of Activities for the Movement for the Distribution of 10 Million Red and White Flags in 2024 at the Garut Regency Bakesbangpol Office, Jalan Patriot, Tarogong Kidul District, Monday ( 8/7/2024).
Acep explained that this program was in accordance with the initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) of the Republic of Indonesia to distribute 10 million flags. Garut Regency has announced the distribution of 40 thousand red and white flags to the community.
Each Regional Work Unit (SKPD), sub-district, village, sub-district, and Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) will distribute around 79 flags, according to the figures for the 79th Indonesian Independence Day this year.
"For SKPD within the regional government we will collect it at Kesbangpol, for sub-districts, sub-districts and BUMD it will be given directly by each agency to the community," said Acep.
The distribution of flags in Garut Regency will take place from June 1 to August 17 2024, carried out by each region.
"Each sub-district that oversees its territory is welcome to distribute flags and report it to us, which we will then report to the Ministry of Home Affairs," he continued.
"So, for each sub-district that is in charge of its territory, please distribute flags, they will report it to us and we will also report it to the Ministry of Home Affairs," he continued.
The target of distributing 40 thousand flags will begin on August 1 for regional government partners, including mass organizations and other institutions.
"We collect from partners who ask for flags, such as mass organizations and institutions that provide request letters," said Acep.
The Ministry of Home Affairs' program to distribute 10 million flags aims to strengthen the sense of national unity and integrity.
"Apart from this, it is indeed an adhesive for the Republic of Indonesia, an adhesive for defending the country as well, defending the nation as well, symbolized by the distribution of 10 million flags," he concluded. (Diskominfo Garut/Fauziah)
