PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting. The Regent of Garut, Barnas Adjidin received a friendly visit from the management of PT. Persib Bandung with Dignity (PBB) led by the Vice President for Operations PT. PBB, Andang Ruhiat, in the Pamengkang Room, Garut City District, Garut Regency (20/3/2024).

This meeting discussed plans to establish a Persib Academy in Garut Regency.
Barnas expressed support from the Garut Regional Government for the plan to establish the Persib Academy.

He views football as a sport that is in great demand, especially since Garut Regency is one of the areas that has potential in this sport.

"Of course this will inspire the sport of football in Garut, because we are introducing the Persib Academy, and maybe the Garut Regency Government will support the plan (building the Persib Academy), it will easily be realized and the people of Garut can be on the national and even international stage ," said Barnas.

Head of the Garut Regency Youth and Sports Service (Dispora), Ade Hendarsyah, added that the meeting was to see the opportunities offered by PT. UN.

"I was also directed by him (Acting Regent of Garut) to look at the Persib Academy if it already exists in other cities, as a role model or as a reference, because we also don't know how Persib Academy will survive," said Ade.

Meanwhile, Vice President for Operations PT. PBB, Andang Ruhiat, said that the establishment of the Persib Academy aims to develop football talent in Garut Regency, while seeking support from the Garut Regency Government and the community. The establishment of the Persib Academy was in order to "pick up the ball" for soccer athletes in Garut Regency.

His party has surveyed several locations for the Persib Academy in Garut Regency. However, his party will continue to discuss and discuss further with the Garut Regency Youth and Sports Department.

"So there are actually several alternatives that we have surveyed, yes, but again they are synchronized with existing activities at Kadispora itself," he explained.

The Persib Academy is not only present in Bandung but also in several other districts/cities such as Karawang, Cimahi and Pati.

The aim of establishing this academy is to hone the skills of potential young people aged 10-16 years, targeting professional clubs to the Indonesian national team. (Diskominfo Garut/Fauziah)
