Acting Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs of the Regional Secretariat of Garut Regency, Dedi Mulyadi, together with the Head of the Industry, Trade, and Energy and Mineral Resources Service (Disperindag and ESDM) of Garut Regency, Ridwan Efendi, checked the stock and prices of essential staple foods (Bapokting) at the Malangbong District Market, Garut Regency, Tuesday (18/3/2025).

Dedi Mulyadi said that this activity was part of the efforts of the Garut Regency Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) in monitoring the availability and stability of prices ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan 1446 H.

"Today we are checking the stock and prices of goods at the Malangbong District Market together with the Head of the Trade and Industry Service. We from the Regional Inflation Control Team are also checking the Important Staple Foods (Bapokting), some of the goods are fluctuating," said Dedi Mulyadi.

Furthermore, he highlighted the cayenne pepper commodity which is in the price range of Rp100,000 to Rp120,000 per kilogram. According to him, the price is still relatively tolerable considering that Garut Regency is one of the main suppliers of vegetables.

The party also ensures the availability of cooking oil, including packaged cooking oil (pouches), in a safe condition.

"Hopefully the price is still within tolerance and the public can be calm in facing fasting and Eid al-Fitr 1446 H," he hoped.

After talking with traders, Dedi Mulyadi ensured that the stock of vegetables and food at Malangbong Market is sufficient until Eid al-Fitr. Buying and selling activities are also monitored as normal, and people's purchasing power is still stable.

Head of the Garut Regency Trade and Energy and Mineral Resources Agency, Ridwan Efendi, added that his party continues to strive to ensure the availability of basic necessities in all markets in Garut Regency, including Malangbong Market.

"We convey to all residents to ensure the availability of basic necessities in Garut Regency is safely available in every market. One of them is in Malangbong Market, all the needs of the community, especially ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, are all safely available. So, the community does not need to be anxious about the scarcity of basic necessities, everything is available and at a relatively affordable price," concluded Ridwan Efendi.
